Goal: Prepare your business to run Google Ads for the first time from scratch.
Prerequisites or requirements: You will need to have a Google account. (If you use Gmail you already have one.) To follow some of the sections on this recipe you will need to have Google Tag Manager on your site, you don’t have it yet, you can follow one of the following SOPs depending on the platform you’re using: Shopify, Squarespace, or Wordpress.
Why this is important: Google Ads allow you to promote yourself on 3.5 billion searches per day and over 2 million websites on the Display Network.
When this is done: Only once per website.
Who does this: The person responsible for paid ads or analytics, possibly with the help of the person responsible for website development.
